My day out to Pure London
I attended day 2 of Pure London, which is basically a huge fashion expo, where new emerging brand and established brands showcase their new stock, so A/W 18 + S/S 18 . It was heaven, I've never seen so many (beautiful) clothes in my life.
There were also several trend talks followed by catwalks showing the trends from the designers and brands at Pure. It was so handy to get all the inside scoops on the best trends, upcoming trends and non - mainstream trends! I got so much inspo for future blog posts.
at the models...
I found so many new brands I had never heard of before and I loved seeing their new collections, getting to know the designers and the inspiration behind their pieces. Not to mention ya girl did a little networking!
I saw this brand on Instagram, fell in love with their pieces, and I just had to come and check them out!
I won't lie , I was biased on this brand as it is a Kenyan brand, created by two Kenyan - British sisters Sisi + Eleanor and made in Kenya, by Kenyans!
Oh btw I'm Kenyan (if you hadn't guessed!)
All their artisans, who use a mixture of traditional and new techniques e.g sand casting and laser are fairly employed, with their workshops being ethically certified!
I love the minimal aesthetic of their jewellery and the incorporation of Kenya into it, plus I was chatting to the ladies and they were so sweet!
This booth immediately caught my eye ( I forgot to take a pic sorry!) , the prints on their clothing and the designs were beautiful!
I got chatting with the lovely lady running the stall and she let me know all about the roots of the brand and the different pieces they had.
The brand created in 2008 by Ghanaian designer Chieza is all about expression of contemporary afro-urban style around the globe. All their pieces are ethically hand made in Ghana, which create jobs for men and women, with a portion of their proceeds from each purchase being donated to their own non - profit organisation, The Revolutionary Underground Foundation!
I'm now officially obsessed with them! Any weddings I go to, I'm definitely rocking one of their pieces!
It's amazing that they're giving back and working so closely with their communities!
Feeling alot of love for African brands! :)
I fell in love with the flower display of their stall/ booth, so I asked if I could take a pic of they're shop, I also checked out their online store and they have some gorgeous peices.
All the pics below are designers / brands I also loved . I'll link their website below!
gorgeous minimal clothing
Anyways I had a blast at Pure London and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves fashion and discovering new brands or just loves getting goodie bags and yummy freebies!
Plus it's completely free!
They have another one happening in October and February 2018.
As always I hoped you enjoyed this blog post!
