Black To Basics

Black To Basics

Paring back my look, and hitting reset

Hello there!

While I am aware that spring is approaching, flowers are blooming, bees are buzzing and all that jazz, I seem to be visiting my good old colour ( well technically it's a shade) palette, and I'm loving black again.

Crazy I know!

As much as I love spring colours, the light printed, tea dresses, blouses, shirts and skirts, the tomboy in me is screaming, No! I think it is because I took my braids out recently and I'm at the awkward hair growth phase where I can't don the Lupita N'yongo boy cut and I can't Diana Ross it! I sort of reset to my classic favourites, a sleek (depending on humidity) low bun, or clean cut conrows. I also think this kind of style frames my face, and make me look all fresh-faced and young, which I am never opposed to!

Anyways, natural hair journey aside, do you ever have those days where you want to be comfortable, don't want to fuss with matching colours and prints but still want to look like you've got your life together?

Who you gonna call?

Black Basics!

So I put together a few of my favourite black pieces, sort of a mood board. It's a mixture of my styles to be honest! I hope they can give you some 'basics' inspo, you may be surprised to see a bit of contrast stitching, thrown into the mix, I know really colouring outside the lines!

So in 3, 2 ,1 ! Enjoy!
